- The Reader - probably the best kind of commuter. Looking at the interesting and different titles of their books makes you lengthen that reading list of yours. They don't disturb you if you're a college student like me who is forever cramming for exams.
- The Staring Aunties - most awkward of the bunch. Stare you down and make you squirm. *Shivers*
- The Texting Addict - they’ll keep tap tap tapping on their cellphones. Make the Staring Aunties bloody curious.
- The Whisperer - one of the rare species. They talk in soft, hushed voices with their best friends, probably about that cute guy in their class. Or the annoying/ not-so-annoying boyfriend.
- Ms. Loud - most commonly found. Talks like nobody's business. And soon what they are talking about becomes everybody's business as they start listening keenly to their stories to amuse themselves. The loud chatter gets annoying more often than not - in the morning, when you're not awake enough to process anything as well as in the evening, when you're just too damn tired to care.
- Auntie Obnoxious - they tend to push and shove you to get a seat or even a 'good' standing space. Rude and rough. The arguments start mostly in this group first.
- The Musical Soul - always has the headphones plugged in. More often than not listens to Bollywood music which sometimes can be heard by others too (the headphones are just that good) Some good souls are more versatile and lean towards sufi, rock, R&B and make you wish that their headphones were faulty too.
- Studious/ Exam prone college-goers - cramming away dutifully on the day of the exam. Eyeball you real hard if you do anything to disrupt. Moi belongs to this category at the end of every semester!
- Fashion Faux Pas- having a fashion nazi for a best friend makes it impossible for me to ignore these. Especially if they paint their faces like clowns. Ugh! My eyes!
