It’s been such a long time since I’ve written anything.. or
scratch that.. it’s been such a long time since I’ve written anything positive,
that I don’t know where to start. Penning your thoughts down and having the whole
world to read it is a scary thought, even though it might not seem so at the
other end. Having said that, I find it surprising that I ventured into the
world of blogging at all, even if as an
anonymous blogger at first, because I’m a very private person. Only the people
whom I consider very good friends would know what’s going on in my mind. And boy,
would they know. Half of them think I’m pure evil genius, the other half thinks
I’m a five year old and a child at heart. And no, that’s not flattering myself, because being called a kid is not fun all the time.
Having said that, I think I have arrived at the theme I want
to choose today. Friends. We all
have them. We love them, we hate them, and we certainly cannot live without
them. I have some wonderful people who have been there for me when I needed
them the most, for that I’ll be forever grateful. On that note, consider myself
nominated as the best ‘lady’ at your wedding (forget me ever allowing a best
man.. nuh uh!).. the right to make a toast and give the speech you’ll never
forget and will probably love and hate me forever for… that right will be mine
first.
So here it goes..
The one who always
was… I cannot remember a time when you were not there, right beside me. I’ve
held you while you cried, and calmed you down after you got crazy ideas to
bring the world to its knees. And trust me, if there’s a person I think that’s
capable of doing that.. it’s you, babes. You’re one of the strongest people I
know, and I admire your quality of standing tall and proud, even in the worst
conditions. Hats off to your courage, young lady!
The one who had to
leave… but just because you had to, for a little while. You, my friend, are
a kindred soul. Always there, always so supportive.. even though you have a
gazillion things of your own. I always end up calling you first, because you’re
just that dependable, dude! Sometimes you might not pick up a hundred times
when I call you, but the one time I do need you the most.. when I’ll either be
sobbing with grief or ecstatic with joy, you’ll always be there. You’re just that freakishly intuitive, and I’ll
always, always be thankful for having you as my really good friend.
The one who always
accepts… you, sweetheart, taught me never to be apologetic about how I want
to live my life, as long as I’m not hurting other people. You taught me that we
can make friends in the silliest of situations and have them as friends for
life. Sometimes it seems you’re my mother hen! Your ambitions and goals for me are
sky high. I love the fact that you don’t coddle me, but know when to be caring
and when to throw me in the deep end. But still, I’ll say something to you..
bro code is pure B.S. You know exactly what I mean.
While I’m tempted to go on and on about these wonderful
human beings that I’m blessed to have as friends, I do am a slave to the
corporate world. Hence bidding adieu to this post and will come back for sure,
with a Friends 2.0..please do not
kill me! And needless to say, the order is irrespective of the magnitude of our
bonding. No favourites, people!
Hopefully, it will not be too long before I fall back into
the habit of updating more often.
Au revoir!
